Frankie is AMAHHHZING!

Sweet Frankie - he has had a busy week - I started teaching him the doggie door late last thursday night... He thought it was the worst thing ever - even with treats - we only he practiced for about 6 tries - he wasn't having fun and it was pretty cold.  Well, something must have clicked in his sleep that night - because in the morning - he was going in and out the doggie door all day like it was the best thing ever... And it's been a week, he uses the door as needed and not one accident in the house!  Housetrained!  YAY!!!   He's such a smart boy.

He's also found his voice  - he alert barks at the door and sometimes at noises in the backyard - My Sasha enjoys the barking in the backyard and joins in - she doesn't hear that well these days, but she can tell when he's barking and feels she should join in!

We also went to the pet store and he had fun getting his sniff on  - did great with all the dogs that were around, except this cute lab puppy he baarked at... too nervous to take treats from the staff, but he just needs practice.  He's actually really good on the leash when it comes to walking.

He also loves toys sooo much... balls and stuffy animals.   This blue ball has a bird in it that chirps and he's determined to get that bird out... He might succeed on that.    Tiny tennis balls are the best for playing fetch with hiim and he runs so very fast!

Frankie News

Frankie sure loved the bit of snow we got last week!   Also didn't mind wearing Skeeters jacket!   He zooms sooo fast!  I hope we get some more!

Frankie loves loves playing with stuffed toys.  He will gnaw off any plastic eyes on them - so you got to be careful that he doesn't eat them as he quickly found the one toy that had them.  It was sweet - reminded me of the days when Sasha used to chew off all the eyes and noses of all her toys.    He also loves playing catch with tennis balls - regular size ones are too big for him, though he tries so hard - but he can't carry them in his mouth for too long.  But I have two tiny ones - pervfect frankie size, and he loves chasing them and bringing them back to you!  Super fun!

While baths he doesn't so much care for as he thinks they are scary - if you put this magic hat on him when he is sleeping - he will sleep so heavy you can clip his nails!  It was amazing!!!!

This is were Frankie spends the working hours - in the donut bed in my office, right by my chair so I have easy access to give him belly rubs!

He's doing reallly great - not the shy little boy that arrived two weeks ago -  we are working on his housetraining still - he does pretty good on a schedule.  He's scheduled for his neuter on the 31st and he'll also get some baby teeth removed at the same time.   He is much more active and busy - just loved to play with his toys and you and of course zoomies!

Introducing Frankie!!!

So right when I stopped fostering for the winter and my mandatory overtime ended - a saw a plea on Facebook from Wags to Rescue for emergency fosters - they took in 3 dogs fro a hording situation - were hoping to go back and get more - and needed fosters asap.... I couldn't help but raise my hand... Two days later - lilttle Frankie arrived!

Frankie is a 5 lb little chihuahua mix - he has a broken tail in a few places; he has his baby teeth in addition to his adult teeth still in his tiny mouth - and he only has half a lower jaw - he's skinny; a little nervous and shy.   He was, we think, pick on by the other dogs; only fed hard food and possibly abused.

When he first arrived to Wags - he was terrified... He would just go limp and give up if you picked him up but two days with  a Wags foster and now a week with me - you can see this little boy start to shine...He needs work on his houstraining skills, but he loves to eat his soft food - he's up for any and all treats you have.. he loves to nibble on soft toys and he gets the zoomies after he poops!  He's a character and I'm happy I was available to give him a soft spot to land...   Video ---> Zoomies

He's got an upcoming neuter and to get those baby teeth removed and I'm sure we will continue to see this little dudes personality come out..

Updates

Seraphina is quickly settling into her new home.  It only took just a little bit and she starting sleeping on the bed!  Her and her rat terrier sister Abby - they get the zoomies together and are on their way to becoming fast friends.  What a great Christmas for Seraphina and she even got some fancy new clothes and I'm sure she will have the bestest 2019 !

What a cute little pack of pups!

Look who I also  heard from -  Sebastian's dad Ryan!  Sebastian was my very first foster dog back in 2011  Over 7 years ago - now Sebastian is about 8 1/2 years old.

He's doing really well - has lots of tricks in his repertoire - a funny one being "Walk the Runways" which he will walk on his hind legs -  all for the mighty treats he gets!

He's all grown up and his face has whiten quite a bit - but I still see that silly ssweet boy i fostered so long ago!

I'm taking a break from New Rattitude fostering for the winter -  but I've got exciting news for next week and then I will be back to NR fostering when the weather warms up :)
