Foster Updates

 Spencer
 He is busy getting to know his new people and fur-siblings.. and so far, everything has been great and he has settled in fine... He sure has a BIG brother in Baxter!

Next picture, I want to see Spencer snuggling in between these two!!!

Skipper
 Skipper too has settled in with his Yakima family - so much so he has both ears completely up and look at them... huge!!!  Him and fur-sister look like they were enjoying Halloween!

Sheriff   
He is now Max and after a scary medical issue, it's good to see him recovered and doing well.  He even got to go on an airplane and show off his cute self at the airport.... So glad to see him looking good and growing up with his family!

Sidney   Adopted in January of last year and now Aela, her family also adopted Neon, now Rowan... When their parents got married, they got to be flower girls!  Wow, they are no longer puppies!  Lucky girls and what a great day they got to be part of!  Congrats to all of you!

Saul  Adopted in 2011, here he is, happy that the UPS left a package... happier still that the UPS man is gone!  

Love my foster updates!  Sorry I missed a few but I do love getting them and seeing once down on their luck dogs, getting the lives they deserve! 

Updates!!!

Sweet Sandy who was adopted this February is doing great - here she got to sit on her daddy's lap while he was at work!  She was just a sweetheart at work and everyone loved her (who wouldn't huh). 

Sheriff (now Max), the puppy just adopted in May, wasn't feeling well and his family took him to the vet and it turns out he needed surgery!  He's doing great now and he quit pouting once he got out of the cone!  He's parent say they had lots of trouble keeping him mellow and calm following his surgery he so quickly recovered...  I'm so glad his new family was there to take care of him and see so quickly that he wasn't feeling well and get him the help he needed.. He sure is a lucky boy!

Sylvia, now Rue, is continuing to do well in her new home with Renae... Rue will go to the cabinet where her food is kept and spin in front of it to let her mom know it's dinner time!  She's loving all the hiking and she, after 3 weeks, let her mom see her rattie runs!  Way to go! 

Updates (Stella, Sheriff, Saul and Sandy)

Stella, now Margo was adopted this past December... She is living in Yakima and has settled into her home and routine and is doing wonderfully!

 Look at that sweet girl with her sibling Bear... They are quite the pair, tearing around the house and the yard playing chase. 

Sheriff, now Max, just adopted last month and is also enjoying his new home and family... He's got human siblings to keep him busy and run his puppy energy out!  He's going to have a great life! 

And sweet handome Saul who was adopted  in 2011 is living the good life with his mom and trying to look innocent to his digging ways! (I totally believe him, don't you?!)

And Sandy who was adopted in February.  She is living down in Portland , doing super and getting to play with new friends at the local dog park! 

Enjoying Oranges and Modeling!

Sylvia too got to try out an orange, but she just wanted to hide it. (though she loves herself some clementine orange slices).

She did well in the hotel but had trouble managing the stairs... Somehow, Cassie in the one day she was there, showed her how to do it and then she was a stairmaster! (I think it helped that we had her leashed to Sheriff so she could follow him, be tugged but not be pulled up by him)... Way to go Sylvia!

 A wonderful person donated some coats to us so I had Sheriff try out his modeling skills.. FIERCE!  I tried putting it on Sylvia but Sheriff would just try to eat it and pull it off of her... So her pictures will be coming :)

No more pictures of Sheriff but I know is having a blast with his new family and putting the "pink coat" incident behind him!

Girl Scout Time!

On Thursday, I got to go meet with some Girl Scouts and talk about rat terriers, animal rescue and
fostering... We even make some dog paw cards!  I brought both Sylvia and Sheriff (with the help of Cassie) to meet the girls for part of the meeting too...

The girls were excellent with the dogs - Sheriff was excited to meet everyone of them and enjoyed all the attention!  They ran around, he got himself some belly rubs and treats... He thought it was all pretty fantastic and I think the girls had a lot of fun too.

They understood Sylvia was a little more nervous and shy (so we brought her with her safety bed) and a few girls came calmly to sit and visited her and learned  about her and how to meet a more shy dog. 

It was a great visit - good experiences for all around and both pups PASSED out as soon as we left...

I'm Adopted Says Sheriff!

 

Sheriff found himself a wonderful family with two human siblings that are going to be lots of fun for him to play with!   He got to meet them on Monday while I was over in Seattle and then got to go home to his new famiy on Friday.  I hear they are settling towards the name Max for him.  I'm sure Sylvia will miss her snuggle buddy but probably not miss the daily pouncing and ear gnawings!  We miss him and his sweet self but know he's got a good life in store for him!

 Sheriff tried so hard to figure out how to get into this orange!  He got some tooth marks, but just couldn't get past the rind... Was fun to watch him try tough!  I think he would have gotten it eventually, but a toy ended up being more fun to play with!

  It was a busy week with me traveling so more posts of Sheriff and Sylvia's adventures to follow now that we are all back home!!

Visiting Western WA!

I'm over in Seattle this week for work and I brought both Sylvia and Sheriff with me.  A friend and her daughter Isa came over and Sheriff was in heaven!  Sylvia not so much but I also brought her snuggle bed so she had a safe spot to relax and take in everything... of course then Sheriff had to jump in the snuggle bed too...sigh

Sylvia wasn't all pleased, but but all was good and they are doing well in the hotel with regular outings...Sheriff loves meeting all the new people and you have to hold him back or he will go running to the next new person whether they want to meet him or not (though most do)!  Sylvia, more laid back, but she is loving exploring all the trees and bushes - new sights and new smells!

Where You Going?

Sheriff Watching Cassie Leave... <-- Part meerkat maybe and a little unbalanced, Sheriff was very concerned when Cassie left for work...

Both of the foster puppies LOVE piling on Cassie if she is napping.. you can barely see her but if she is napping, then it's nap time for them too... And Sylvia will even leave her comfy snuggle bed to get in some nap time with Cassie! 

Bitey Face time!

Sheriff is a good natured fun little guy and he brings out Sylvia's play mode.. and nothing is better than a round of bitey face!  (He is in the red collar and she is in the black collar). She's not the initiator in play time but she is easily convinced... :)

Sheriff also found a spider tonight and had a fun time playing with it all over the house... kind of gross but he seemed to dig it and when he left, then Sylvia decided it was spiderplaytime round two!  Poor spider but that's what happens when you come into my house!

Meeting a Stranger

 

 Sheriff is so silly - he is unsure of who that puppy is in the mirror and can get quite concerned.. He growls, he pushes on the mirror, sometimes he just lays down and watches that little guy.  He can't quite figure it out and he's been trying hard to meet this dog since he got here.. I've taken him to the mirror a few times and then I throw treats down when he start to get worried... hopefully soon he will come to appreciate the little dog that keeps sending him treats! 

Want to his his puppy growl.. it's a purr-growl with some extra bonus noises... he's trying to be intimidating and scary but it's not working cause it's too cute and adorable!  >>>http://youtu.be/RWdp3uG8PR4
