Updates

Teddy and Lola (Silas and Scully), best buds and doing great... Lola got to be famous by appearing in a shoe catalog with her mom!  Way to go!!!

Rue (Sylvia) who has come so far since being adopted... letting go of her fears and learning to trust... She also doesn't mind hanging out with the cat to get some neighborhood peepin' in! 

And there is Summer and Sandy - Summer jumped in the lake this past summer to get a swim in (who knew!)

 And while I think they are adorable in their sweaters, Sandy is not too much of a fan.  They are good playmates with each other and just seem to be peas in a pod!

 And here is Baxter (Mulder) with his new human baby brother...  awwwww

 And lovely Pippa () - She also got to visit Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach just like we did.  She's turning 3 soon too!

And a special shout out to our 17 year old cat Sarah.. while not a fan of all the rat terriers I've fostered, especially the ones that managed to sneak and eat her food... She has shown a lot of patience with the revolving rat terriers that we have introduced her too (which she basically hisses at if they get too close and basically acts like they don't exist)... She's battling early stage kidney disease and just got out of the vet for a 3 day stay of rehydration.  We are hopeful that we can slow this disease down and keep her healthy!

I'm Adopted!

Of course she is!  and she is in for a treat - she's been adopted by former New Rattitude adopters of Sandy, my foster foster dog.  :)  Sandy is just as sweet as and now with Summer - they have twice to sweetness!  I hope they become good buds!

Some last pictures of Summer before she is off to Portland to her new family!  Gonna miss her sweetness and cuddles. 

 A bully treat for her last weekend with me.. She didn't like me taking pictures up close... And while I wouldn't let just any two dogs lick the spoon of peanut butter together (why there is no Sasha), these two were just happy to enjoy the treat! 

Updates!!!

Sweet Sandy who was adopted this February is doing great - here she got to sit on her daddy's lap while he was at work!  She was just a sweetheart at work and everyone loved her (who wouldn't huh). 

Sheriff (now Max), the puppy just adopted in May, wasn't feeling well and his family took him to the vet and it turns out he needed surgery!  He's doing great now and he quit pouting once he got out of the cone!  He's parent say they had lots of trouble keeping him mellow and calm following his surgery he so quickly recovered...  I'm so glad his new family was there to take care of him and see so quickly that he wasn't feeling well and get him the help he needed.. He sure is a lucky boy!

Sylvia, now Rue, is continuing to do well in her new home with Renae... Rue will go to the cabinet where her food is kept and spin in front of it to let her mom know it's dinner time!  She's loving all the hiking and she, after 3 weeks, let her mom see her rattie runs!  Way to go! 

Updates (Stella, Sheriff, Saul and Sandy)

Stella, now Margo was adopted this past December... She is living in Yakima and has settled into her home and routine and is doing wonderfully!

 Look at that sweet girl with her sibling Bear... They are quite the pair, tearing around the house and the yard playing chase. 

Sheriff, now Max, just adopted last month and is also enjoying his new home and family... He's got human siblings to keep him busy and run his puppy energy out!  He's going to have a great life! 

And sweet handome Saul who was adopted  in 2011 is living the good life with his mom and trying to look innocent to his digging ways! (I totally believe him, don't you?!)

And Sandy who was adopted in February.  She is living down in Portland , doing super and getting to play with new friends at the local dog park! 

Updates on the Puppies and Sandy

Puppies, Skye and Sawyer - who I fostered in August-October - such tiny things when they first came to New Rattitude... Nervous and not exposed to a lot of things... the world and all the changes was scary stuff for them.  I miss them and their silly puppyness so it is great to hear and see them thrive in their new homes!

Skye, now Millie, has quickly settled into her family... I hear she's not enjoying the snow so much, but spring is right around the corner... She went a family vacation and traveled fantastically.  So happy to see her growing up with such a fabulous family!

Sawyer is showing himself to be a smart pup and learning lots of new things.  His family and his 3 year old rat terrier brother are bff's.  His family says they couldn't imagine life without him!

Sandy too, is doing very well in her new home in Oregon.  She gets to go running with her dad every other day and they just adore her.  I hope to get some pictures soon!  (hint hint)

I'm Adopted!

Who got the best early Valentine's Day present this year?  Sandy!  She's gotten herself adopted to a wonderful family in Portland Oregon.  She's going to have an older Pug as a fur-sibling and a cat to try to make friends with.  They live close to a dog park so Sandy will be a frequent visitor! 

She's heading home on Saturday and best wishes to her and her people!  She's an amazing dog and I'm sure she will be lots of love and laughter to them!

 Sandy is used to the snow already and enjoyed some sniffing of the snow at the neighbors...

 Both Roxie and Sandy have had enough snow, they want back inside where it's warm and cozy!  

Can't say I blame them!

Another trip to the Pet Store!

Another trip to the big pet store for socialization.  Sandy did super!  She walked right in without hesitation and got her sniff on.  While her tail remained low, she was interested and engaged in checking things out.

There were lots of dogs there and Sandy sure wanted to meet them!  They were busy training so no meets for her, but good practice for them to learn to walk on by!  She whined at them but they were focused on what they had to do...

 So we took her to see the cats through the window... awww...no greets for her there either!  However, she meet lots of kids and they were all so good.  They all asked if they could pet her and while nervous at first couple, she got to enjoying the pets and attention by the end of the trip.

 

 She did not enjoy the bride veil I found however (they actually had dog wedding dresses and veils),

 though I think she looked adorable!

A good trip for little Sandy... she'll be master of the pet store trips in no time!

Learning to enjoy the snow!

Well Sandy sure got over the scary snow (or "terrorflakes", another foster mom called it) in a hurry... In two days, she has found she can run and jump all through it and has herself a good time!  Then  she gets to come inside and cuddle in a warm blanket... I'm sure her favorite part!

 

Play Date with a New Friend

My neighbor friend just brought home a cute little terrier mix named Roxie to join her family a couple days ago... Sandy come over a visit to meet this new little one!

 It wasn't play at first sight, but after an hour or so, we did finally get some play, though both were kind of spazzy about it... short bursts of play and then ignore each other, then play stance, ignore it , repeat repeat...

 I put Roxie's new coat on Sandy to see if that would help! not really, it was just adorable!  Sandy doens't mind clothes a bit....

 A few more "dates" and I'm sure they will have their "play style" figure out...Roxie is new in her family too, so she's still settling.   When they got going, it was really cute and active, very busy... Sandy's tail got to "helicoptering", it wags, but rather than just back and forth, it also starts going in big circles. They both enjoyed themselves as their nerves settled. 

Snow Play!

Sandy is from California... she's used to a warmer climate and while she's had no problems going outside to potty in our colder weather... Going outside for a play was a different matter...

 If I hide behind the owl, maybe I can't get away from this snow!

My paws are cold, I have snow on my head... NO FUN!

 COME SAVE ME!!!

 Hold me, love me, warm my paws!  Get me out of here!

 So, she's not a fan of the snow as of today, but I hear there is more snow to come, so we will see if we can change her mind!
