Silas

Silas has quickly settled into his new home and is getting along great with his new sister Lola (former foster Scully)..you can see how tough he has it from lounging in his new bed to napping by the pool!  We are happy for him, it's the life he deserves!

Shelby

Shelby is one of my very first fosters and I'll always remember her cause she was so tiny, yet she could and would jump into anyone arms.  She continues to be a blessing and best friend to her mom Sherise and now has a little minpin sibling to play with her. 

Sprite

Now Maggie; she is super loved and has two fursiblings to run around with and is just enjoying the good life!

Selma

Now Pippa, she is Princess of all she surveys! Now 2 1/2 yrs old, and over a year since being adopted; she is thriving in her new home and is loved very much.

Sienna

Now Holly, she is doing super in her new family and her pack. She gets to travel and we saw her at the Rattiefest and you could just see how happy she is and how well she is doing.  Couldn't be happier for her. 

Google+ Awesome Video

Google made this video for me - called Google + Auto Awesome ...out of my photos that i have uploaded to Google+ Not sure how it decided to pick which pictures or if I should be worried or not that's its making videos for me..but it was fun to watch the video not knowing what it was going to show.  Mostly the puppies Sawyer and Skye, Stella is in there, Sprite, Skittleman and then Sebastian (my first foster) was in the mix.  It was sweet and I do appreciate the Ice Coffee recipe that I took a picture of from a magazine this summer, that is right in the middle of all the dogs pics.. pretty much sums up a great portion of my dailly life.. dogs and coffee...coffee and dogs oh and some more coffee and dogs... so Thanks Google, you are forgiven (but I'm keeping my eye on you!)  Enjoy!

Sprite's found a home!

Well it couldn't have happened to a nicer pup... Sprite has found herself a family to call her own.. She's going to have plenty of fur siblings to keep her busy and her mom and dad will be picking her up this Saturday to take her home to Olympia.. It's going to be quiet here without little Sprite here but I couldn't be happier for her!

Summer Times

Sprite is enjoying a nice gnaw in the summer sun... Her and Sasha trade this bone back and forth and have quite made a game of stealing it from each other... Sprite usually forgets about it after a time and hides it... Sasha finds it and then when no ones looking (except me sometimes) and takes it back!

 This is Sprites hiding place... On the side on the house in the iris patch - she likes to drag all the toys out here and hang out...

Let's slow this blog down a bit... 

This little girl does love to sleep all crazy... she's got a thing about having her feet in the air

Want a cuddle bug?  Well she certainly is... here she is snoozing with Cassie

 

and OMG -  regular position sleeping!

She is about 95% housetrained... almost but not quite trustworthy I think... I still give her reminders, but now only in the morning and at night and she uses the doggie door on her own during the day...

She also has the paper fetish and loves to chew on the fast food pop cups and tear them to pieces I have discovered, so those are now thrown immediately away so as not to tempt her...

Big Dogs are F-U-N

I have a couple of friends who have some bigger dogs that are sweet, nice tolerant but won't let guest dogs take too much advantage of their hospitality and I'm able to expose the foster dogs to them and know that they are safe (all of them)... Tuesday, Sprite got to meet Sadie, Sheriff and Emery

Sprite wasn't sure at first at these bigger dogs, but after a few sniffs, she was ready to play!

First she met some neighborhood kids and it was greets, tail wags and licks to anyone who would let her... She is very sweet and trusting of people and animals... She did however, bypass my friends cat, showing little interest...  Could have been because my neighbors cat gave her a swat when she got too in her face.. If so, good lesson learned!

 Her and Sadie actually exchanged some face licks!  It was sweet... But mostly it was "chase"... Sprite is speedy - only Emery - the blue Weimaraner who is three,  attempted to try and catch her but it was to no avail - but they all had fun running around, and or watching Sprite run around and it sure wore Sprite out who passed out when we got home!

Adventures in Yakima

Sprite was bored, I was bored, Cassie was bored - so what better to do at 7pm on a Tuesday - take Sprite to the pet store for a little interaction and socialization... I put Sprite in in the dog booster seat, which she did good in, taking in the sights and very interested in all that was outside of the car.. She even flirted with a few people at red lights...

At the petstore, she loved it... She greeted people, walked around exploring, i think she could have spent hours in there... She's a little jumpy on people so you have to watch her and hold her back sometimes, but she loves meeting all the people.  Too soon it was time to go home...

On the way home.. car broke down... all the electrical stuff just quit and the car died... FUN - it's about 80 degrees still, we are down town and it's about 8pm... I start making phone calls - tow truck is on it's way... I get ahold of a friend whose husband is with the Yakima Police Department and he was just leaving work.. yeah!.  He comes to pick us up in his police car  both Cassie and Sprite get (have) to ride in the back seat!

This wasn't the trip we had planned, but it ended up okay and Sprite and I ended up over at my friends house and she got to play (and shake off her police car ride) with big dogs - she did great!  blog post about that tomorrow!

The face you get when you make a squeaky noise

Sprite continues to be just a happy go lucky little dog... Yesterday she got her toenails clipped by Cassie and did very well and handled it without a peep.  

 She enjoys playing with your hand and getting belly rubs!

Jolly Good Times!

It happened finally!  One of the dogs likes the pink Jolly ball and it's SPRITE!  We are working on "fetch" with her and so far she doesn't get it and gets annoyed that you keep throwing her toy away, but I think she has it in her to really enjoy and with some time and treats, she will be a big fan in no time. 

PlayTime is All Day!

Sprite has learned the doggie door, her housetraining is coming along and I would say she is almost housetrained, but sometimes needs little nudges to go outside... She's not a fan of the dark so she likes the company I think..

She is busy, loves to play with her toys and has figured out where the toy box is and likes to empty it, find a toy she likes, walk it all over the house in her mouth and then shake it to pieces, drop it and then move on to the next one. Fun to watch but I spend a lot of my time putting toys away, she spends her time bringing them back out!  She also will play tug with you but will then want to play with you and not the toy!
 
She also had brought in bark from outside, tried to eat a tea candle and likes to gnaw on dead plants (but not the live ones!), bringing them to her dog bed for a tasty snack..yumm - so you got to keep an eye what she's finding outside! 

she LOVES to find the sunspot to heat up in and take a nap! 

She is really good natured, happy and affectionate... she is just a little love bug!

Silly Sleeper

So Sprite is settling into the routine of the household... She is very sweet with a little goofiness too.. A perfect combo I say!  She also is such the silly sleeper.  it doesn't look comfortable to me but she seems to enjoy sleeping on her back with her feet up! 

Her housetraining is coming along and she is using the doggie door on her own and running back in full speed to collect her treat!

She needs to work on her manners a bit with dogs and cats... She wants to be friends so bad that she doesn't always listen or pay attention to them saying no.  She finally got herself a smack by the neighbors cat for getting to close, going nose to nose with him and that seemed to catch her attention.  She didn't growl but instead backed away from him and mellowing out...

She also has gone on a few walks and does great on her leash.. She enjoys wandering the neighborhood and seeing the sights... She's an active little girl and she's very interested in learning new thing!

Doggie Door Master

Mastering the doggie door... She was quick to learn how to come in from the doggie door after just a few tries!  She's people oriented so it was just as simple as calling her in and once she figured out the flap wasn't a scary monster, she was good to go! 

Next, letting herself out the doggie door...  I really don't think that will be a problem for her at all!
