Updates

Oh Shae; he is quickly settling in with his new family.  He is doing well on his walks and is really enjoying having Krash as a playmate and also a squirrel watching partner!  It's nice to see him so content and happy.   People often ask how can you foster and then give them up.. Well - I only have to look at the picture of him with his new dad and it's so obvious he is where he was meant to be. 

 So happy that Shae has a buddy to cuddle with - Krash is going to be a good old brother and mentor to him.  :)

And here is Gertie (Sunny) with sister Sophie...   Her mom is working on her reactiveness to dogs while out on walks but she is doing great at home.     Glad to see her continue to do well.

Update on Sunny

Sunny; aka Gertie; is counting to thrive in her new home.  I'm so happy for her!    This video - I see true happiness and contentedness as she is finally in her home and has her own person!  Just the best!

She also has chickens and her mom says she's super interested in what they are all about.  She's getting along with her fur sibling and learning to share space.  She gets to sleep with her mom which I know makes her so happy!  Welcome home little one!   So glad that I got to meet her and help her get to her final home.

Update on Sunny

Sunny has been renamed Gertie (which I think is so super cute) and her mom loves her so much!    She got her into the St. Patrick''s day spirit immediately and off for walks with her new fur siblings.    I cannot wait to hear about her future adventures!

I'm Adopted!!!

Well it couldn't have happened to a sweeter dog.  Sunny Booboo has been adopted and is off to today to Western Washington where her mom is looking forward to snuggling with her and giving her lots of attention!  She'll have two fur sibling too.  I'm so happy to help bring her to to her forever family where she can relax and continue to be the happy sweet little dog she is. 

I will sure miss her and her funny little ways.  She was a nice easy step back into fostering for me and for my dogs too.  I can not wait to hear about how she is thriving in her new home!

Walk in the park..

So I took Sunny to the dog park - eh... .not for her at least with the bigger dogs.. they made her too nervous and she just shoo'd away anyone in a wide perimeter of me...Luckily they all listened to her but we left in under 10 minutes and went for a walk around the park instead.. Much better for her...

She enjoy the sights; couldn't quite figure out the birds - what they were; if she should chase them, barked at them or what... .And interesting enough was scared of a couple with a baby stroller... gave the baby stroller wide birth; but all the other people she saw; she wanted to meet.

Again; she is a fast walker; but there were so many sight to see and sniff; we had lots of pauses... She's a fun little dog. She definitely needs to work on her confidence but she's super fun and just loves about every person she meets.

Sunny Settles In

Sunny is doing great... She has even learned going out the doggie door - while still not completely housetrained - she is well on her way.  

Also - the snapchat filters pick up her face so I've been having a lot of fun capturing her and getting the different filters to work... This usually happens when I have a break at work and wake her up from her dogbed by my desk!

 Also - she love going on walks!   I have been taking just her cause she walks fast!  (or my dogs walk reallly slow) and thought she would appreciate a faster speed.  The good news too is that barking dogs in the yards we past by don't bother her at all.. She is more interesgted in the walk and all the good things to smell!

She reallly is a number 1 snuggler... She likes to be touching you in some way and cuddle up to you as long as possible. 

So Pretty!

 Sunny is such a pretty girl.  Also will snuggle with the owl which is great.  Skeeter won't even look at it.

Last week when we got a dusting of snow; I was curious to how Sunny would react.  She didn't seem to mind it at all!  Yay!

 She's a bit of a snorer!

Sweet Sunny

Sunny is a very sweet dog.  About 2 years of age; she has gotten over most of her growlies and is finding herself more comfortable in the routine of things.   She knows how to come IN from the doggie door; so we are working on having her go OUT on her own; but she hasn't quite gotten that in. 

The weather was nice; so on the weekend, we all went out to Cowiche Canyon and enjoyed a nice walk.  Sunny was more than up for it and is lovely on the leash.  Pulls just a bit but there was a lot to see and sniff so I don't blame her a bit!  They really all did super considering it was the three of them.  Barky at other dogs (mostly mine being instigators) but Sunny happily is easily distracted by treats!

We walked about 3 miles and she had more in her for sure but my two gals were puttering out.  I'll have to take her out by herself where we can go longer and or go faster.. she would enjoy that I think.  

 Skeeter had a good time until she fell over...right into a mud puddle no less!  This was because she kept looking back at a dog to bark at him and wasn't paying attention!

She's good in the crate at night.  Whines for a few before settling in. She would love to snuggle right up to you all night long though.  She does like to be very close and touching you. 

Getting to know Sunny

So Sunny is busy settling in - she sure wants and loves attention.  She really wanted to be in my lap while working; but I can't do that.  She didn't want to be a desk dog like Skeeter - so I brought a dog bed and put it right next to my chair and that seemed to settle her...

She can be a little growly at my dogs and tries to be intimating; she doesn't want anyone but her to be closest to any people.  it's all show without much underneath; but we are trying to be consistent in rewarding good behavior of sharing space and if the growling starts; play stops or she has to get off the couch.  We will see how this works out as time goes by.  She's shown already she is capable of sharing space with no issues.

She doesn't care much for kisses on her head but she loves to play with people (haven't found a toy that she likes yet) and is a world class snuggler for sure.   She tolerated her bath and wasn't phased by a good toenail clipping at ALL which was great.  And she's gets a little crazy after the bath which was fun to see that energy level come up on her!

Sunny days

Sunny is here and what an adventure we had!   First I got stuck on Saturday in Yakima due to weather conditions.  Luckily Skittles mom, Angela helped me out and picked up Sunny and kept her overnight.

Happily I was able to pick her up on Sunday, but I stayed too long and I didn’t want to drive in the dark while it was snowing - so we ALL (did I not mention I brought Sasha and Skeeter for a fun road trip) at my friends house.  It was a crazy busy night, but we all got to know each other and everyone were great troopers.  Thanks Chelle and Isa for letting the crazy group of us stay the night!   Isa, took some great pictures and we headed home at 5 in the morning Monday!  That was eventless and we were all happy to be home’.

More news about her later  as we get to know her more- but she was called Booboo by her previous foster home - so I’ve taken to calling her Sunny BooBoo - keeps the S and it's fun to say and is super cute!
