Feeb's is Home

Formally Savannah, now Phoebe aka Feeb's knew she was home when she got to her home with her new family in Canada.  Her family reports that she has quickly settled in, not shown any shyness at all.  She even got to go pick up her human sibling Joel at school and didn't worry or mind about all the kid wanting to pet her.   I think she knows these are her people and she is safe and can relax and take life in stride.  So happy for her!

Her new family has a cat, who, while we knew Feeb's would be okay, there was some unknown on how their cat would do... Well that adorableness that Feeb's is, she has quickly won her new cat sibling over and cat flirts with her and just loves her!  (who wouldn't!).
This picture is just too sweet... Bringing these two together makes fostering
these pups so worth it!

Whatcha Doing?

Savannah, who not only gets a new family, but the new name of Pheobe (Feebs), is all ready to head off to her new home tomorrow.  Here is us spending some time getting in some last full body wiggles in from her.  Wiggle away! (and why do I have to talk so funny to the dog all the time?  i just can't help it!)

Savannah's leaving the country!

Well it didn't take long but Savannah had found her family and will be heading to Canada this Wednesday where she will be get to know her new people and she gets to have not one but two human siblings to grow up and  play with!  She will have the new name of Pheobe/Feebs which is adorable!   I will miss her cute little puppy nose and feet but am thrilled that she will start her new life and grown into a happy confident little dog that she was meant to and her time in the shelter in CA will not even be a memory!

Savannah hits the town!

Savannah has already had a busy day.  We took her garage sales shopping this morning!  She did really well and was nice and interested in the dogs that she met, but stayed close to us rather that other people.

The other great news is I got a really great deal ($12 bucks!) on an elevated dog car seat at one of these stops, so she got to ride around town in style!  She didn't get it at first, trying to jumped out of the seat, but by the end of the trip, she was sitting in her little seat, strapped in and enjoying the sights!

We also stopped by Holly's who is a vet tech and is always willing to do the microchipping for me and she got her chipping done (small whine, a little bit of pee, better than i thought she would do) and got to play in the back yard and meet Emery!   She quickly forgave Holly and let her give her pets and treats and we were on our way back home...

It's not even noon yet and she is already pooped out and taking a nap!

Happy weekend!

Savannah and Sasha are getting an early start and together no less!  Savannah is a tail waggler and thumber and Sasha didn't seem to mind - it also didn't last too long thankfully!

I plan to get savannah out and about this week as much as possible  and enjoy the weather, sights, sounds and smells!

Savannah bo bannna...

Savannah bo bannna...she's a cutie for sure... She seems to have our routine down.. Funny about eating.. she likes you near her when she eats... if you leave, she follows you!  Can't have that cause Sasha would eat her food.  So i either stand there in the morning, drinking a cup of coffee while she enjoys her breakfast!

Cassie took her out to a park with Sasha and while she kept an eye on a crowd of loud kids, she enjoyed the park and walk... i think positive, continued exposure to things is good for her and shows her that everything isn't so scary

Laying Around...

My yard is kind of a mess with lots of dried grass areas but Savannah found some healthy soft green grass and took a snooze... It's pretty hot here already so I'm sure she enjoyed the coolness!

A nice long walk today too with Cassie.  She's a bit confused on the leash and not sure whats expected of her but once she gets into a walking groove, she does good.  She just needs practice!

Sleepy Sunday's

Savannah had a busy Saturday, so it was just lazing around Sunday and going outside for sunshine and lots of snoozing in the dog bed...
She and Sasha enjoyed sniffing the irises and while Sasha will go out there to bark at a bird or noise, Savannah just follows her (very excitedly) but with no barking.

Meetin' and Greatin' Part 2

I missed showing a very cute picture of Savannah and Sadie.. Savannah gave her a kiss@

So it probably wasn't the best idea to use her leash to play with her but the next video shows what happened when Cassie tried to attach a toy and play tug..

Meetin' and Greetin'

Savannah got to over to my friends house and meet lots of people and animals. She did great!  She was nervous, but up for quick sniffs, accepted some pets and enjoyed all the new sights and sounds...

Meeting Nate... Ears down, but the tail never stopped wagging!
Meeting Sheriff  and Sadie went very well.. She wasn't nervous at all.  No one played, but they enjoyed hanging out with other and sniffing around and stealing some sniffs of each other!  They are such good mellow dogs and always up to the task for putting my fosters at ease around big dogs and give them a positive experience.

Next up... Mia!  She loves dogs so too help Savannah, she put on a dog mask and a paper tail... Savannah wasn't too sure about what this person-dog creature was but was willing to check it out!

Meeting black cat... he was too busy eating to be bothered, but Savannah went up for a sniff and then went about her business...

Taking a break from all the action!
All and all, she did great.. better than I expected... She hung out with us when we here outside, coming inside when we did.  The only real nervous time was at the end of the visit when my friend tried to pick her up and she was just too nervous and not ready for that, but a couple more visits and I think she would be up for some closer contact with her.. Way to go Savannah!

Belly Scritching!

Savannah has a great spotted belly!  A little nervous on her back (and doesn't like to held on her back at all), she is coming to learn that laying on her back will get her belly rubs... She's even start to snooze a bit during!

She's still a little nervous around the house and loud noises, a sneeze or cough will earn us a startled look but she is coming out of her shell and getting more playful  and relaxed everyday.  She likes to run in front of you doing little spins, like come on! play play play!

I think she looks like a meerkat in this pic!

I think here she is saying, stop with the pictures and get back to the belly rubbing!

BFF's

Savannah has found herself a great playmate in Cassie... Sometimes right away, a foster dog will gravitate towards one of us more than the other... is it readily apparent that Savannah really enjoys hanging out with Cassie and they are good buds and she even gets face kisses...

Maybe it helps too, that I'm the one that crates her at night and Cassie is the one who gets her out in the morning too.  While Savannah is quiet as a peep in the crate, you can tell, she doesn't really want to go in there, preferring to stay snuggled under a blanket too keep snoozing..

Oh and Savannah finally lost one of her baby canines yesterday...Growing up and getting her big girl teeths!

Savannah and Spot!

Savannah is a bit shy so we thought a trip to our local pet store, Pet Pantry was in order... a small pet store, not such bright lights and a calmer atmosphere...   While a little nervous (good in the car though) once we arrived, she quickly got use to the store and was happy just cruising the aisles and sniffing things...
And went she met "Spot", one of the employees personal dogs, it was some instant friendship.. She didn't know I was looking, but I caught her licking his face!  He in turn showed off by showing her how he could zoom around all the aisles, making sure she was watching.   They didn't play, but I think given enough time, they would have as they were both just following each other around... i

I got her some tasty Evanger's duck and sweet potato since she is being so anti vegetable for me... It worked, she ate her kibble and a couple of tablespoons of the softer food.

Her left baby canine is very loose and I expect it will be coming out by the end of the week with  the other following shortly thereafter.. .She is doing very well house training wise - we take her out regularly but she is also going out by herself.  She's also a bit obvious when she needs to go, so it's been easy to remind her and lead her outside.  She's a smart cookie!

Feathers!

So I'm in the kitchen and I can can hear Savannah running around in the living room... Of course, she found a cat toy and decided this was way better than any of the dog toys that are around and it looks like she has a love for feathers!   In the video you can tell she doesn't know her name, but she recognized the words "puppy dog"!  (and there is a brief appearance of my dog Sasha making her very serious walk by)....

Ears to You!

Savannah has great ears!  Tan with dark brown edging and they are super soft... She loves some ear rubs at any time and will never say no... Mostly they are up with a slight tip at the top but she can do all kinds of crazy things with them depending on her mood...

She is also learning to potty outside and has seemed to figure out that she gets a treat for it very quickly!  (though I am learning not to be so excited about it)  She will come up to me after going outside with a full body wiggle, seeming so proud of herself!

Savannah Arrives...

Sweet Savannah has made it to Yakima... She's about 5 months old, 12 lbs and just a little love bug

She's been through a lot in her young life so yesterday was about cuddles, kisses, scratches, snuggling and a just getting to know you kind of day.

She's a bit shy and will lower herself flat if things move too fast or are scary for her... However - her tail never stops wagging!  I took her outside for a potty and told her "good potty!" in an excited voice as she was coming towards me and she just stopped and flattened out... poor little thing!  She's sweet though and just follows you around... Meet with Sasha went well, she explored the back yard and got some running in and I think sniffed every inch of the living room - she's even played with a few toys and seems to prefer the ones that don't make noise.

Bathtime - she did pretty good.. you could tell it wasn't her favorite thing and she was just a bit wiggling but I think she enjoyed the warm water and I'm sure she feels better being cleaned up after her trip up from California... She's super soft too.
Dinner time... again, a little hesitant and nervous so I took the kibble out of her dish a bit at a time and spread it on the floor and she did fine., just a little slow. However, she would not eat her GREEN BEANS!  She would pick them up and spit them out away from her dish!  My dog Sasha was happy to get the extra serving :)  We'll see if we can get her to love some vegi's later!

Tired little girl resting up after a busy day!

Savannah is on her way...

Sasha - enjoying some time foster-free for a couple of weeks... she gets lots of well earned mamma time!  I hope she's rests up cause next up around the 26th is a 6 month old puppy we've named Savannah...   She's about 20 lbs already with a little more time to grow - here is a wonderful post about how her and her mom and siblings were rescued by New Rattitude...  a-long-and-precious-rescue-part-one.html
Can't wait to meet her...   She beautiful and likes to sleep in pottery! I think she will be just a hoot!

Until then...
