Updates

 The puppies that came to New Rattitude last August, officially turned 1 year old this week!  I heard from Millie this week who is living the good life with her rat terrier sibling and while still a puppy, growing up so fast!  She had now graduated to a small collar!  When she first came to me, she was so tiny and only a xs kitty cat collar would fit her!

This means Sawyer is also one year old too!  Here he is with his brother Ollie and doing super well over in Seattle. 

We miss these little tornadoes, but it's good seeing them thriving and growing up to the dogs they were meant to be!

Updates on the Puppies and Sandy

Puppies, Skye and Sawyer - who I fostered in August-October - such tiny things when they first came to New Rattitude... Nervous and not exposed to a lot of things... the world and all the changes was scary stuff for them.  I miss them and their silly puppyness so it is great to hear and see them thrive in their new homes!

Skye, now Millie, has quickly settled into her family... I hear she's not enjoying the snow so much, but spring is right around the corner... She went a family vacation and traveled fantastically.  So happy to see her growing up with such a fabulous family!

Sawyer is showing himself to be a smart pup and learning lots of new things.  His family and his 3 year old rat terrier brother are bff's.  His family says they couldn't imagine life without him!

Sandy too, is doing very well in her new home in Oregon.  She gets to go running with her dad every other day and they just adore her.  I hope to get some pictures soon!  (hint hint)

Google+ Awesome Video

Google made this video for me - called Google + Auto Awesome ...out of my photos that i have uploaded to Google+ Not sure how it decided to pick which pictures or if I should be worried or not that's its making videos for me..but it was fun to watch the video not knowing what it was going to show.  Mostly the puppies Sawyer and Skye, Stella is in there, Sprite, Skittleman and then Sebastian (my first foster) was in the mix.  It was sweet and I do appreciate the Ice Coffee recipe that I took a picture of from a magazine this summer, that is right in the middle of all the dogs pics.. pretty much sums up a great portion of my dailly life.. dogs and coffee...coffee and dogs oh and some more coffee and dogs... so Thanks Google, you are forgiven (but I'm keeping my eye on you!)  Enjoy!

Update on Sawyer

His new parents say that Sawyers ears are starting to look like they want to stand up!  He is enjoying the last of the summer weather with his big fur-sibling Ollie in their backyard.  He just didn't miss a beat and is enjoying his new family!  Yeah Sawyer!

Chew Time!

We've got lots of toys for the teething puppies - bones, teething toys.  It keeps them busy and they like it... I would say Skye is more of the serious chewer and can settle for good periods of time getting her chew on..

 Sawyer likes to chew toys too, but he also just wants whatever his sister has!

 

Sneaky or Sleepy

So Sawyer was doing his FIRST under the covers snuggle...so I thought... When I took a peek - turns out he had found some paper to chew on!  However, even though I took the paper away (no fair), he still stayed snuggled under the blanket for a snooze (could be cause his sister was napping on top of the blanket and HIM, but works for me!)

 

So since he got caught be naughty - here is a picture of him in a lovely scarf !

Skye was all about sleeping on top of her brother yesterday... look at those long legs! 

Both Skye and Sawyer are doing well - all healed up from their speuters, house training is coming along and as long as they have reminders both are doing really well.  They have good appetites and I feel like they have grown quite a bit since last week.   We are starting to see an occasional ear up or two from both of them for a few seconds here and there... very exciting!

The Runway!

So since Sawyer is heading home soon..  I figured this was our last chance...

TUTU time!  

It might not be right to some, but he kind of rocks his pink/purple tutu!

Little Skye got her self a fancy dress to wear too.  She was pretty cute and tried to help her brother out by chew and trying to take off his tutu, which was nice of her by his standards!

 He look like some kind of tulle-dinosaur! A tullasoraus!

 It didn't last long, just long enough for a photo shoot and then we were done with the clothes...but I soudl see either of them wearing a fancy sweater or two when the weather turns colder!

Play, Fight or Bark - too many choices!

Skye isn't sure what to make of our cat (Sarah).  Sarah mostly hangs out in Cassie's room where we have a baby gate up so she has a free safe space that she can always go to anyway from the dogs. 
In this video, Cassie is in there playing with Sarah and the puppies want to watch.  Skye wants to do a little barking, but they get distracted and play with each other too. Hysterical!  My favorite part - synchronized tail waggin..watch for it!


We are working with Skye and her barking at the cat by taking her in, playing and giving treats around Sarah so she can see that kitty cats are not anything she needs to be worried about.. Sawyer has gone in there too, but he's not really interested in the cat at all - more interested in her FOOD! 

Sawyer's Adopted!

Sweet Sawyer has been adopted!  He's getting an older fur-brother and playmate named Oli and a cat too!  He will be living life on the west side of the mountains with his new parents who just fell in love with him when they met him.  Life is getting ready to change for him but in good ways!  Happy journeys little silly Sawyer!

Who Loves Irises?

Look at Sawyer, with the help of Cassie, wishing me a happy birthday on Tuesday! 

We have super weather right now.. very warm but not hot and the puppies are loving it with lots of soaking up of the rays and lots of outside time... They have discovered my irises and like all the fosters dogs, are fascinated by them and have started hanging out in them!

 Both are healing well from their spueters on Friday - Sawyer has completely rebounded and no more cone for him for the past few days... Skye got her cone/collar off today too.  I'm sure both are so happy to lose those cones/collars - but they were cute with them!

Happy Labor Day!

Look how happy Sawyer is to get some "cone free" time!  He love himself a sun spot.  I love little heated dogs coming back in the house, they are like little heat pads of cuddles!

 Skye can manage to get her foot through the pro-collar (too big I think), so we switched her to cone... I actually think she can sleep better - she looks pretty comfy to me!

Pictures versus Sleeping

Puppy Skye and Sawyer are busy recovery from their spay/neuter surgery, plus micro chipping, plus rabies shot that happened this morning - the vet called, all is good and I'm getting ready to go pick them up in an hour or so...

 

So while they are busy sleeping off the effects and getting some healing done, here is some funny pictures of Sawyer trying to figure out what that thing was that I kept putting in front of his face when he was trying to get a nap in...

 Sweet little Skye couldn't be bothered in the least by the camera phone and took a peek and when back to her beauty sleep...  I love it how, with both of the puppies, their little rattie ears stand up when they are sleeping on their sides.. it's cute!

Queen Bee Sasha doesn't mind napping near the puppies - this is the speed she prefers them at! (when did all the dogs take over my couch?)  Skye really wishes Sasha would cuddle her so prefers to be by her (just in case, I think), while Sawyer is hanging out by me..

Sittin' Skills

 Look at these two and their sitting skills!  I've been working on them to listen to "sit" and they get it!  It took awhile and they can get a little amped up, but they are now starting to "sit"when I ask even without treat.  Such smart puppies!

See that box behind Skye - yeah, they both gnawed on it when I wasn't looking... See the trail of something behind Sawyer - he found a dryer sheet (must have fallen out when I was bringing a pile of clothes to the bedroom) and tore it into tiny pieces! 

Puppies are Puppies!

 Look at that little smile on Sissy's face!  It's been hard to get from her when the camera is out and sometimes it's bigger, but on her last day with me, she finally let me document her smile (with ears up no less).  I will miss this little one, but she's headed to the coast with her new mom that is going to love and dote on her every second!

Innocent aren't they?

 Puppies are fun, but you gotta watch them every second!   Found that one or both of them got their chew on my purse strap!  I recognized those tiny teeth marks! 

Sawyer actually came up to me yesterday while I was talking on my cell phone with ear buds and stole the right one right out of my ear!  He didn't get far, but geez!

They are pretty good about not chewing "non-toys" but not perfect.. We have pulled all kinds of things likes string, cords and rugs out of their mouths, giving them a fun toy to chew on instead or even stopping what we are doing and just playing with them.  They love running after the Tail Chaser and catching it!.  It takes time, patience, distraction, positive reinforcement and a watchful eye and you keep the chewed cords and purse straps to a minimum.
