Updates

I've been busy and my updates got a way from me  - so I thought I should get out the ones I've been hoarding for while... sorry if I missed anyone... 

Little Frankie has settled in great with his new mom and fur sister, Koko.   As you can see, he loves her so much and of course he loves his mom too.  So happy for this little guy.  How freaking cute are they?!!!   This is just what I wanted for him.

Millie - (formerly Skye) was a puppy I fostered many years ago.  Now all grown up.  Unfortunately, she was recently diagnoses with Addison's disease, but quick action from her mom and family wiht the right medication got her back on track and feeling better.  Best Wishes and stay healthy!

And an updated on my Skeeter... some people saw it on Facebook - but we took Skeeter to see the neurologist for her back... we found out that while she does have problems in 3 places in her spine, two luxating patellas in the back of the knees - what was worse - was the lung cancer with involvement in the lymph nodes that they found that make any other surgery impossible.  Cancer is most likely metastatic from one of her previous mammary tumors.  I have taken her in 3 times to have them removed after her primary surgery and still as the WSU - they found 2 that I hadn't spotted yet.   Devastating and uncurable.  However, we opted to do some chemotherapy and on her last treatment - her xray showed no progression of the cancer, even a possible bit of a reducement.    Also - good news... medication for her back has been working and she isn't dependent on her wheel chair; those she still has some motility issues. Very little symptoms from either her cancer or the treatment which is great.   As long as her quality of life is good - we will fight this.  She's still barking at the neighbors, licking faces and being the best desk dog-  Go Skeeter!

Updates

Teddy and Lola (Silas and Scully), best buds and doing great... Lola got to be famous by appearing in a shoe catalog with her mom!  Way to go!!!

Rue (Sylvia) who has come so far since being adopted... letting go of her fears and learning to trust... She also doesn't mind hanging out with the cat to get some neighborhood peepin' in! 

And there is Summer and Sandy - Summer jumped in the lake this past summer to get a swim in (who knew!)

 And while I think they are adorable in their sweaters, Sandy is not too much of a fan.  They are good playmates with each other and just seem to be peas in a pod!

 And here is Baxter (Mulder) with his new human baby brother...  awwwww

 And lovely Pippa () - She also got to visit Haystack Rock at Cannon Beach just like we did.  She's turning 3 soon too!

And a special shout out to our 17 year old cat Sarah.. while not a fan of all the rat terriers I've fostered, especially the ones that managed to sneak and eat her food... She has shown a lot of patience with the revolving rat terriers that we have introduced her too (which she basically hisses at if they get too close and basically acts like they don't exist)... She's battling early stage kidney disease and just got out of the vet for a 3 day stay of rehydration.  We are hopeful that we can slow this disease down and keep her healthy!

Updates

Baxter, (formally Mulder) got to finally welcome baby Max to the family... Sleepy dad, says all is going well with the new baby Max... they are interested in the baby, some licks and checking out to see if there is any food... They are making sure they get attention and baby-free time time too.  They look like a happy family to me! 

ah.. Simon... I grabbed these pictures off of instagram... the post on the picture below was "These two are exhausted after a day of ripping up toilet paper and tearing down anything hanging from the wall that is less than 4 ft from the ground."  Sounds like they are partners in crime!  They sure try to look innocent don't they? 

Then, they got to experience some rainy camping days, which maybe wasn't so fun, but they got to cuddle lots.  They look like such a fun pair to me - I'm happy they have each other...

 And some pictures of Sparrow!  All recovered from her dislocated toe injury and ready to rumble.   It's fun to watch her grow up. 

Lola (former foster Scully, ) and new sister to Silas (now Teddy).. got to be in a photoshoot for her dad's shoe catalog... I think her and her mom look great!  Lola and Teddy are doing great together.

It's weird to not have any foster dogs these past couple weeks and sometimes I feel like I'm missing a dog...but I don't think Sasha and Skeeter are missing it so much and are enjoying the mellower pace (aka, lots of naps!). 

Updates

Silas

Silas has quickly settled into his new home and is getting along great with his new sister Lola (former foster Scully)..you can see how tough he has it from lounging in his new bed to napping by the pool!  We are happy for him, it's the life he deserves!

Shelby

Shelby is one of my very first fosters and I'll always remember her cause she was so tiny, yet she could and would jump into anyone arms.  She continues to be a blessing and best friend to her mom Sherise and now has a little minpin sibling to play with her. 

Sprite

Now Maggie; she is super loved and has two fursiblings to run around with and is just enjoying the good life!

Selma

Now Pippa, she is Princess of all she surveys! Now 2 1/2 yrs old, and over a year since being adopted; she is thriving in her new home and is loved very much.

Sienna

Now Holly, she is doing super in her new family and her pack. She gets to travel and we saw her at the Rattiefest and you could just see how happy she is and how well she is doing.  Couldn't be happier for her. 

Simon Says...

Simon arrived and he sure has put a lot of energy in the house... He's a busy dude and loves to PLAY.. Silas wasn't too sure of him the first day, the second - he was interested but wasn't sure what Simon was doing..third day.. BITEY FACE and wrestling commenced...   Silas is very good with him; gentle and not too crazy and let's Simon firmly know when playtime is over.  Simon is teaching him some cool wrestling moves... Silas and Simon wrestle video

Simon is a sweet puppy; he's energetic, LOVES to play and loves to sleep! He's quickly learned the doggie door which is AWESOME!  He's just a happy little dude and quickly learning the ropes of his new foster home.   Yesterday was his neuter day, and it didn't slow him down a bit, of course...   Silas is heading home on Saturday and I'm sure gonna miss his babysitting skills; but once Simon is healed up, we will see how he does at the dog park and see if he can make some new friends!

I'm Adopted! (and more news)

Silas is gonna be one happy dog... He's been adopted!  He's is going home to a great family and former foster Scully/Lola will be his New Rattitude fur-sister! 

 I think he will really enjoy having a fur sibling around and will get busy working his wonderful charms on her to show her how fabulous he is!  He'll head of to his new life this weekend!  I'm gonna miss him but he is in for such good things, I couldn't be happier!

We also had Rattiefest this weekend and we should be getting pictures up in the next few days.  2016 6th Annual Northwest Rattiefest thanks to the wonderful photography of my friends daughter Isabel who is a budding photographer.  She shows her work on a few facebook pages, but I did get a this one...

And then last but not least, we got a new foster!   We picked Simon up after rattiefest and boy, he's a busy playful little guy.    He loves playing with Silas and they have already played bitey face... He's very sweet and cuddly... Can't wait to find out more about him in the coming days.

He finally found the upper part of the landscaping in the backyard... he had quite the blast checking out all the new smells up there! 

 We are just relaxing and preparing to go to the Rattiefest tomorrow!   He also doesn't know it, but he's getting a new foster brother afterwards!  Welcome Simon who is busy charming everyone as he is being transported up from California... I hear he is about 13 lbs, 5 months old, loves to play and loves to play with other dogs!  Should keep Silas on his toes!  (me too!)

For the Love of a Toy

Another day at the dog park with Silas and also Skeeter... It was an interesting experience... Silas got quite possessive over this dirty, muddy sock with a tennis ball in it... I've never seem him get growly or chase other dogs away over anything until when he found this thing.. He did just love it to pieces and carried it all over the park; but we had to put it away.  Once we did, he was back to his happy, get along with everyone self...

 This is Cujo, Silas is quite smitten with him..he tends to be there whenever we are and Silas just follows him everywhere...

 Skeeter did amazing...this is her third trip to the park and while she is barking getting inside; once there, she does great.. She doesn't want to hang out with the other dogs; but she wandered all over the park...She would come to me and ask to be picked up when she got tired...  It's good cause now I know that she can come to the Rattiefest reunion this Sunday and not be overwhelmed or miserable. Yeah!  She's the tiny dog below in the black sweater among all the big dogs!
