Time to Play!

The weather is so nice these days in Yakima... you can feel spring coming, even if the grass isn't showing it yet... But you can sure see it in little Sylvia's run/jump/hops outside!   She's become quite the follower of Sasha and is quickly becoming adept at not only walking through the tiled dining room but now quick to follow Sasha out on her many rounds of checking out the yard...
look at Sasha's little white muzzle! both are enjoying this weather
her cute little bunny hop run.. it reminds me that she really is a puppy when she relaxes and plays outside

she's so happy to run and let out energy outside!  zoomies!

A Walk In The Park

Sunday I took Sylvia to Randall Park... It's was a warm beautiful day and I knew it would be busy, but I thought she would enjoy all the new sights and smells!

She did pretty super... she stayed away from most people and other animals, veering away whenever they came near, but she enjoyed sniffing the trees and whatnot and I think by the end was feeling more confident.  Halfway through around walk - we took a rest and she left me put her up on my knee where she could survey all around her!  She didn't like the visit to the duck/geese pond though.. They are too noisy for her I think!

She got to walk on all different types of surfaces and none of it seem to worry her much.  While her tail was down for the walk and she did lots of body shakes, I think it was a positive experience for her.

After walking across the bridge, I gave her kind of big treat... she jumped right down below to eat it in private!   When we got home about an hour and a half later, she was wiped and passed right out!

Peek a boo!

Who's ready for some weekend napping (and snuggling)!!!

Sylvia is quite the burrower - she loves to be under the blanket, all warm and toasty.  Though in these pictures she made herself quite at home, resting her head on my pillow, not needing to burrow.

Sylvia is a manicurist!

Sylvia likes to nibble on nails.  I thought it was maybe because my nail polish was shiny but no, she does them to just plain ol' nails too.  Thanks for the nibbles, errr manicure!!!

SnuggleTime!

Went to Costco and finally couldn't resist the snuggle sac they were carrying... Sylvia made herself right at home in it (Sasha sniffed it and would only sit in it if treats were involved)... It's a perfect comfy place for her to be while watching what is going on around her

Fur Friends

My neighbor had friends over and their dogs, so we took Sylvia over to see how she would do.  She stuck pretty close to me inside and there wasn't any play between all the dogs, but she did much better than I thought she would. She slinked over to a few people for pets and licks.    Potty time was cute, with all these little dogs around and it became quite the sniff fest between all of them, their pee and various group sniffs all over the yard...

Loving the Snow

Sylvia is one of the more nervous dogs I've fostered.  It seems to me that she's not used to or comfortable with living life indoors.  She doesn't like the tile to walk on, preferring carpet.  She's awkward and stiff when you hold her.  She will wait until her lips are sticking to her teeth before getting a drink of water, which I tend to bring to her now rather that have her be thirsty... That being said, she's a little love muffin and wants to and does connect to people, she's just nervous and not very good at it.  :)  So it's extra special, when you see your nervous little one let loose and just enjoy herself...

I've seen brief glimpses of her relaxed when we are outside... but when the snow came yesterday, WOW... There is the Sylvia that she can be, should be, will be someday.  So happy and herself without a worry in the world... Turns out, she not only loves to run and jump in snow, but she'll tumble, stick her nose it in, eat it and chase snowballs!  She's a goofy adorable runner... Needless to say, we spend a lot of time outdoors yesterday!
