Sunny's Beginning

It's always tough when we don't know the full story of a dogs origins.  We more often don't than do.  But here is what we do know of Sunny's.  She was found in September, injured, hit by a car.   No chip, not spayed, no collar and no one came to claim her.

She was xrayed and found to have a pelvic fracture; foot fractures and due to a dislocated tail, it would require amputation.  Luckily, rest allowed the pelvic fracture to heal; a splint for the foot and surgery for the tail.  Then, with the xrays - what do they find?  Poor Sunny has at least 7 little bb's in her hind end.  You can feel a few when you pet her.   The vet says it's just easier to leave them in there than the trauma of trying to get them out.  They don't bother her.   Makes me so sad to think that someone shot her like that... Hurt her.  She's so sweet.    Good news is, she is completely recovered from her injuries.   Rattie runs and can be a little jumpin bean when the treat can comes out.  I would never guessed that she was injured like that.

snapchat filters work on her!  *almost

Life handed her a rough deal indeed, but it's turned around for her too - she was rescued  (Thanks Laureen,!), recover and have a safe loving spot to heal and then transferred to us - to me; her final step before having a family of her very own.  She's so close and she doesn't even know it!

I'm amazed at the resilience that so many of these dogs have.  Always willing to give humans another chance to love them the way they should be.
