Dog Day Afternoon

We have a new off leash park in town so we decided to take the girls and check it out... Selma was ready to go; Sadie more hesitant of the two..

The bigger dogs were scary to Sadie, especially with more than 1 at a time... We took Sadie off to the edge of the park where she could get more space and she did better.  She even greeted a few dogs.  She definitely prefers dogs more her size.  And she really loved a little boy and let him pick her up...

Selma did better... she was a little vocal coming into the park cause she was excited, but once in there, she quieted down and ran around checking out all the dogs... oh and the people... I think she meet every person at least once with her little wiggle butt... She kept jumping on a little boy and that will be something that needs to be worked on but she was just so excited.  She has really good dog manners... When a scuffle broke out with some dogs, she stayed out of the way too...

It was a good visits and the pups got some chew for the ride home... Selma will be heading home this coming Saturday too!

Beach Time!

We also took the girls (and ourselves) over to Whidbey Island... This was at Clinton at the waterfront... Sadie did great until we come to some running water... She said no way... I found some rocks and thought maybe she would cross them as she did so well with the planks early but nope... She doesn't cross streams!  :)

The girls didn't get to come out at the Alpaca farm... but what cuties.. It was rescue/retirement farm of Alpacas, llamas and goats... love it.. Though they stare a lot and I felt a little judged.. of what I'm not sure...i'm sure it was all good things.  but i loved their faces and big gooby eyes!  If you are in the area, go see her... Paradise Found Fiber Farm you will learn tons about these wonderful animals from Mary and she has  lovely yarn and products made 100% from the animals at her farm!

Last stop was Double Bluff.. an off leash beach area... we didn't unleash the puppies but leashed them to each other and kept a close eye.. Selma did pretty good.. a little vocal in her greets but she got better as she got into the groove.. some of the big dogs worried her a bit and she ran away but for her first experience it was positive and she loved exploring!  Sadie was nervous in the beach area with all the other dogs so I held her and kept her warm in my jacket until we got away from the busy areas

The girls slept like a rocks on the way home; we wore them out well!... they were troopers in their crates too... Selma is defiantly the more eager, wanting to meet people and dogs; Sadie more reserved - she just needs practice and positive experience.

More training!

Isa set up a little course and had each of the girls walk through it... it was fun to watch...  Selma and Sadie were so into it... Selma not so sure of the blocks at first, but she got it quick enough!

Selma met herself some rabbits... She did try to intimidate them with some soft barks.. they made her a little nervous, but she was easily pulled away onto other things to see... Sadie found an opening in the fence and worked on being a noisy neighbor.. (I'm sure she learned it from the #1 noisy neighbor, my Sasha).

Learning new things!

Spent the weekend over in Seattle.  Our first stop after picking up the girls from an overnight stay with Angela and Skittles was my friends house (girl scout cookie pick up - yummm) on Sunday.    While Selma got busy getting her runs in and checking out the new sights, smells and sounds, Sadie got very focused and got some training lessons in from Isa, my friends daughter.

Selma is very quick and smart, so it was great to see little Sadie getting her chance to shine!  Selma got to work on a some recall and burn some energy off too!

Selma runs!

 Training time for Sadie...

Great videos of Sadie - she did so great and just took too it right away... Did not get a good video of Selma who did pretty good too, but Sadie was a natural.  Sadie Walking the Plank

3 Peas in a Pod!

So after a week with us, Skittles is heading home... He forgot himself two times and played with the girls which was fun to see.  Sadie and selma are actually going overnight to skittles house while Cassie and I visit Western Washington so the trio isn't over yet!
