Sissy seems not to mind playing "dress up" for me on this Sailor Sweater I won from the New Rattitude Auction last week.. I think she looks pretty good!  I could see her sporting some cute clothes in this winter... at least a snazzy coat (or seven!)

Dogs in Bed

Both of their ears go up when they are laying down... It shouldn't be long before they are able to hold up their ears when they are just walking around!

Skye and Sawyer arrive in Yakima!

What a busy couple of days... but the puppies are here and busy making themselves at home and getting to know their new surroundings.  Pretty much they they play, they pee, they poop and they pass out.. all in their very own cuteness!

Lots of visitors to check them out and a trip to the pet store and we are quickly figuring out their personalities.  Get ready for lots of pictures!

 Sawyer - the little boy.. a bit bigger than his sister and he kind of bosses her around.  He's kind of happy go lucky, meets people with little fear, seems easy going.  That is, unless he gets overwhelmed, then it's please hold me, don't let me down, I can't handle it... He did great in the pet store til about 1/2 through, then the nerves got to him so we held him. 

 Skye - she's so tiny, we took her to the pet store for a smaller collar and she has to wear a kitty collar for now!  She's more cautious than Sawyer.  She hangs back until she gets time to get her bearings and then she is raring to go.  She was nervous when we figure got to the pet store, but they end, she was walk in her harness and leash like a champ!

 

 They are definitely siblings, crawling over each other, bickering, playing eatey face with each other and of course, sleeping on each other!

Both of them got baths and they found that pretty scary, but they sure were smelling good and all soft and furry afterwards.  I"m sure they felt better too! 

I'm sure we will find out more about them in the days to come, but they are pretty fun.  They slept well the first night home in their crate as I'm sure they were exhausted from all the changes!

Last but not least...

Found a way to get Sissy all besides herself and more focused on anything other than her  nerves.. drumroll... dehydrated beef hearts by Evangers!!!!... It sounds gross, right?  It looks gross (luckily doesn't smell gross, but I also didn't take a big whiff)...

 I gave her a small piece just thinking I would work with her on touch, see if she knew how to response to "sit", see if she would focus on these treats better.  She's had treats before, but this was different... She crunched down on a piece, looked me, eye got big - I felt like she was thinking.. OMG - what was that wonderful taste and may I have some more??? YUMMM.. she followed me all over the house, eyes wide.  She crawled up on me when I put a piece in my hand before I could even reach down to offer it.... She also sat a few times for me (though I don't think she really was listening), just whatever got her those tasty treats!  She didn't even care that I grabbed the camera for some blurry pictures as long as she might get another treat...

 I've never seen one of my fosters or any dog, react with the amazement and wonderment that Sissy had for these treats.. It was hard to stop giving her pieces!!!

Get ready for puppies because they are arriving today!!!

Play, Puppies and Peace!

Another video of Sissy and Jace playing... They play every day at least once, sometimes twice.  Jace is really good with her and I have notice is playing with her at her level and doing want she wants.  It's super sweet of him I think!  He is leaving today so she is loosing a playmate, but it was good to have him around for the week for her!  Playtime!


And in exciting news, Sissy is getting two foster siblings!  Puppy siblings no less!  A male (Sawyer) and a girl (Skye) are arrviing on Saturday.   I'm interested in how she is going to be with them, but I really think she will be good to them and enjoy interacting and playing with them.  They are little, about 4lbs, but we are ready for Puppypalooza!  I think!

A total of 6 puppies (from the same litter) are headed up to Washington so check out the other blogs on the right for more puppy action! My little ones are, the boy in the back on the right and the girl in the middle on the left...

 

Sasha (my personal dog) is going to be mad I brought in crazy puppies, yet again!  I will make it up to her with bully sticks so she can find her happy place, some peace and zone them out!

Patience...

So Sissy is doing good... She's came housetrained and uses the doggie door as she needs.  She now is eating fine and not so nervous about us or any other dog.  She's into the routine.  She sleeps in her crate at night without a peep and every morning is just a happy girl and runs around, doing her little jumpy spins while we walk to the kitchen to get food.  :)  

Ears come up more often, though she's still pretty nervous at the slightest noise or fast movement.  She doesn't like it when I pick her up but she's not all stiff, but her ears are down.  If I hold her calmly, stroking her side and deep breathing, she will relax finally but it takes time.   She takes time, but she's worth it!  Super sweet and slightly goofy - she's just adorable

Good Times for Sissy!

Sissy is slowing beginning to trust us - she comes to us for affection and to play.  She doesn't like to be picked up, that's pretty scary for her, but she is more than up for a snuggle next to you.  

We currently have a guest dog, Jase.  I wondered how he would do with Sissy.. He's calm, with very good dog manners and before long Sissy was playing with him!  She's a little goofy in play, but he doens't mind a bit, and it's now a daily thing with these two.. It's pretty cute and great to see Sissy relax and have some fun!  I also saw her grab a toy for a good nibble.. I think Jase is good for her, letting her relax and get some energy out.  Check out her video here... Sissy Plays
