Visitor Sutton
Took Sutton to meet some bigger dogs - he was nervous around them, but not so nervous he wouldn't be by them for treats... He loved hanging out with the kids more though - they were 7 to 10... giving kisses and just following them anywhere they went. Here he is with Mia, licking her face and then watching Cassie tickle her!

Ears to you!
Sutton is pretty cute... He's all white except for the left ear which has some light brown on it.. You can also see in these pictures, his ear on the left, which has a bit missing. Sutton was born in the shelter and we think the stress of his birth caused his mom to go a little crazy on cleaning his ear - maybe it was damaged and she was trying to clean it.. We aren't sure... but it's perfectly healed and doesn't cause him any issues at all. I think it makes him unique and from far away, it just looks like his ear is folded back.
You can see in this picture both of his ears. Looks like his right might be missing a bit too.

Partner's in Crime
It's taken five days, but Sonya has finally figured out that Sutton is a friend and a good partner in paper crime... Both of them have the love of paper chewing and shredding... so when one of them found some scrapbooking scraps on the floor - they were more than happy to share some space to get the chew one.... Sutton tried to look innocent, but that's hard to do with paper handing out of his mouth!
Then today, they just out right played like maniacs... there antics were so busy, they practically took of my couch cover, but they had a lot of fun... and then they both passed out after about an hour of hard playing... (and of course, Sasha at the end of video had to come and do her fun sponge routine, cause they were playing so much!)
We are working on getting Sutton on a good potty schedule and it's going okay... accidents happen and Sonya wants to pee where ever he does so we've had to be extra diligent in the potty routine for the both of them... He has started to wander towards the door when he has to go, so he's beginning to get a clue so that's good. He also uses the pee pad when he's in the x-pen quite regularly.
Sutton is very sweet, easy going and loves to cuddle and play. He's super soft and doesn't bite at your hands but is still learning what to chew and what not too.. Seems to really like my laptop to test those teeth on, but is learning and is easily distract able if you just give him a toy to play with.

Smell My Feet!!!
Cute puppy feet! They are big for him, he's still growing into them! He lets me play with his feet all I want and it doesn't bother him at all... not as much of a fan of me looking at his teeth... :)
Worn out from all his puppy antics... He loves to play with stuffed toys, especially squeaky ones!

Sonya gets a playmate!
And here is her reaction...
So she's a little curious, a little wary, a little jealous, a bit bossy, but tolerating sharing her space and us after a few hours...
Introducing Sutton! He's an adorable 4 month old Type B (shorter legs, longer body), pearl rat terrier... He's pretty spunky, curious about everything and pretty calm and mellow considering his journey up from California this past week... And he's already stolen Sasha's favorite toy, the elephant, so pretty brave too! (and it's practically the same size as him!)
He will play with Sonya if she ever lets him.. I think she will in a day or two... I think he will work his charms on her...
His ears are little bit damaged... His left ear more so than his right... We think his mom might have just licked on them too much when he was born. He was born in the shelter with his mom and sibling and that can be stressful on moms. It doesn't bother him a bit though!

Pearly Whites
So last night, Cassie and I were sitting in the living room watching tv... Sasha's sleeping... Sonya is wandering around... and what did she do... Wandered right out the doggie door! No prompting or us practicing, just did it on her own... So exciting... she went out two more times that night on her own... I really think she's got it!
Sonya and I had fun tonight... I haven't found a toy that she really likes yet, but she likes to chase my hand... or I touch her rear or her foot and she jumps, does a spin, lays down and waits for me to do it again.. She will mouth your hand (if you let her catch it) but she's gentle about it... She's so goofy when she's all hyper, but the best kind of goofy.. She was having so much fun and got so amped up - every minute or so, she would do a full rattie run around the house before coming back to me for more playtime... She would also flop in front of me, belly up a few times.. let me give her belly rubs (which I was happy to do)- then she would bound off again... finally, during the last belly rub - she just fell asleep - exhausted from her antics...
I love these pictures.. You can see just how happy she was tonight... Plus she's got the prettiest teeth! She likes to show them off!
