Desk Dog Numer Two

Slater was wanting some attention while I worked and while it would be great if I could hold him all day; not really feasible so I snuggled him up to Skeeter who has a bed on my desk and SUCCESS!    Happy dogs!

He's also an under the cover sleeper - preferring to burrow whenever he can.

Slater's Voice

Slater is doing well.  Still nervous, but quickly making himself at home and neither Sasha or Skeeter seem to mind him.

He also found his voice - oh boy... what a cute silly little howl he has... I first heard it when I was not in the same room and I was like... what the heck was that... yup that was little Slater...It's tiny, cute and adorable like him.    So far he's not the starter of barks, my dogs got him going.

So he is about 8 months old.  We are working on his house training and the doggie door.  He's good in the crate at night which is great.  He's seems pretty mellow and has not problem hanging out in the office while I work during the day.

He also has some yeasty skin so he gets a bath every other day while we clear that up... You can see in some of the photos he looks a little pink.   He feels pretty betrayed by the baths; let me tell you and showed himself to be a super drama queen, shivering; moaning and refusing to look at me when I had him wrapped up in a towel like a baby.  It worked though as I held him and rocked him so he's got my number already too.

Arrival Day!

Slater is here!  He is a cutey patootie! An easy trip in the car on the way home with Sasha and Skeeter.  Everyone got a chew treat in their own spaces and then settled in for naps until we got home.

Once home; he got busy exploring the house and the yard.  While he is really nervous and unsure of what is happening, I did notice that he has a little prance to him when he walks that is pretty adorable.

Then is was bathtime and dinner.  Then he was out like a light for the rest of the night.  I don't blame him; he had a busy day!

He got an after dinner treat - He wasn't sure what to do with it so I held it while he licked it (a frozen banana, peanut butter, yogurt treat - Thanks for the recipe Vana!).  Of course, Sasha inhaled hers in 2 seconds and was just watching to make sure that Slater was going to eat all of his - :)  At 15, Sasha might not see as well as she used to, but she can still see a treat!

Guess Who's Coming to Town!

It's Slater!!!!   Poor Slater not only finds himself without a home; he got attacked by another dog and got some nasty bites... He was pulled from the shelter already an in a temporary foster home to get treatment and de-stress before heading up here... He'll be coming next Saturday and we all can't wait to meet him!

He looks a little sad in his pictures; not that I blame him, a lot has happened to him... I'm looking forward to getting pictures of him being happy and feeling better.  Which has already started in his temporary foster home.     He's about 12 lbs so he'll be right in between Skeeter and Sasha sizes.   I think they will love him!  hahah
