Silly Side of Sylvia

Sylvia has a fun silly side that we see a little of everyday. She is now looking to us for playtime and LOVES playing with Cassie and playing with her paws! We see more belly everyday (and it's adorable) and she is just silly and goofy. She still is very attached to her snuggle bed but that's okay cause she is more than happy to play while in it!

The selfies Cassie took of her and Sylvia are too cute for words.. I entered one in a contest over at Denver Our Guilty Dog facebook page and it won!  Yeah!  We won a copy of Denver Crosses the Creek which will be up for auction a New Rattitude fundraiser...

Doggie Door Master!

It's official - Sylvia will use the doggie door now on a regular basis as she needs!  Whohoo!  It took her a little while but that's okay and she's got it down now!

Doggie Door Master <----- short but awesome video of Sylvia using the doggie door

SpringTimes...

Look at that sweet little innocent face....
She's so happy to have some green grass to play in, gnaw on and just run around in...

I also caught her digging in my empty garden... She's tried to hide a few things in there too... Admittily it is a tempting square of dirt to play in... She doesn't bother my flowers, but she can't seem to resist this area.. it is time to start teaching her this is an off limits area as planting is almost ready to begin...

She's like - what?  I'm so innocent, just sitting here...

Grass = Good Times!

Just playing with Sylvia out in the grass.. I just grabbed some grass and rained it down on her... Who knew she loved raining grass!  She ate it, rolled in it, picked it up and played with it.. Just love to see her goofy side!

Time for a quick Coffee break!
On another positive note for Sylvia, she hung out a little with my neighbors young son... Usually she's a little nervous of him and his little boy ways...but he was mellow, she was mellow and they just hung out and he would pet her and she was not nervous at all... it was so sweet!

Good Times at Yard Sale

We had a yard sale this weekend and brought Sylvia out from time to time to watch the going ons.. A little nervous about all the people milling around, she would accept some pets and also an occasional walk about before returning to her snuggle sack for a nice nap in the sun!

Visiting with Friends...

A visit to a friends house who has a new puppy... Sylvia wasn't too sure about Kiki - bigger and kind of in her face... She didn't mind letting Kiki know to keep her distance with some warning growls and baring of teeth...Kiki sorta listened but would forget and had to reminded a few times...

However, when playing with Kiki, Sylvia wanted in the action too and was more than happy to join in!

Okay, it got too rowdy, so she ran off to to find a calmer area...
A little nervous around little Mia, but she learned that Mia was nice and enjoyed her pets and of course, some playtime from Cassie always calms the nerves!
All and all, she did pretty good - it was pretty active for her and with reassurance and time away from the puppy, I think she enjoyed herself...

Gardening Time

Cassie was doing a little gardening so Sylvia came out to supervise, taste test and oversee the planting of some new bulbs...
She does really love just hanging out in the sun...

A well deserved belly rub for being such a good gardening supervisor!
Our in house bulb-smeller - I think she would eat them given the chance!

Nothing like the hard work of supervising some gardening to wear a pup out!

Home Sweet Home!

So poor Sasha didn't get to come with me when I left on my trip to Seattle on Sunday but stayed home... However.. on Thursday, her and Cassie both got to come... She looks so ready to go in the picture below...

The hotel wasn't so much fun for her, and being stuck in a small room with 2 other dogs and 2 people made for cramped quarters, plus she didn't like it when any neighbors made noise... But she was happy to snooze on the bed and of course happy to hit the road again on Saturday to come home...
The two pictures above.. it's like - wow, neat city...next, bleh..the city.. I'm over it...are we there yet?

A trip over the mountains... a visit to my dad in CleElum...first time she has been there... she barked at him til he got close enough to see him and then she was like "Oh I know you!" poor cloudy eyes...
Then back home, sniffing her yard, making sure all was how she left it.. Of course, Sylvia was happy too.. in her bed on her corner of the couch!

Enjoying Oranges and Modeling!

Sylvia too got to try out an orange, but she just wanted to hide it. (though she loves herself some clementine orange slices).

She did well in the hotel but had trouble managing the stairs... Somehow, Cassie in the one day she was there, showed her how to do it and then she was a stairmaster! (I think it helped that we had her leashed to Sheriff so she could follow him, be tugged but not be pulled up by him)... Way to go Sylvia!

A wonderful person donated some coats to us so I had Sheriff try out his modeling skills.. FIERCE!  I tried putting it on Sylvia but Sheriff would just try to eat it and pull it off of her... So her pictures will be coming :)

No more pictures of Sheriff but I know is having a blast with his new family and putting the "pink coat" incident behind him!

Girl Scout Time!

On Thursday, I got to go meet with some Girl Scouts and talk about rat terriers, animal rescue and
fostering... We even make some dog paw cards!  I brought both Sylvia and Sheriff (with the help of Cassie) to meet the girls for part of the meeting too...

The girls were excellent with the dogs - Sheriff was excited to meet everyone of them and enjoyed all the attention!  They ran around, he got himself some belly rubs and treats... He thought it was all pretty fantastic and I think the girls had a lot of fun too.

They understood Sylvia was a little more nervous and shy (so we brought her with her safety bed) and a few girls came calmly to sit and visited her and learned  about her and how to meet a more shy dog.

It was a great visit - good experiences for all around and both pups PASSED out as soon as we left...
